ARIZONA LEGISLATION: Amigos joins civil and human rights allies across the United States in condemning Arizona's SB 1070, anti-immigrant legislation signed into law by Arizoma's governor. Amigos fully supports efforts in the courts seeking to block the Arizona law's implementation. The nation desperately needs Congressional passage of fair and just comprehensive immigration reform. Immigrant rights are human rights!

What is Amigos’ Mission?

The mission of Amigos Multicultural Services Center is to promote respect for human rights and to advocate for the needs of immigrants from Latin America whose dignity and capabilities have been challenged by poverty, unjust treatment, and social exclusion.

What Does Amigos Do?

Amigos engages in educational activities that focus on the nature and significance of international human rights. We emphasize the importance of respecting immigrant rights as human rights.

Amigos advocates on behalf of fair and equitable immigration policies that are responsive to the needs of people from Latin American nations, many of whom come to the United States to escape poverty, political violence, and other human rights violations.

We also advocate on behalf of the human rights of those Latino immigrants who now reside in the United States, to insure their protection, security, just treatment, and inclusion in U.S. society.

Amigos works with immigrant Latino youth and young adults in the Eugene/Springfield area, encouraging their personal growth, civic engagement, and development as community leaders and human rights advocates.
